APsystems EZHI: The clever hybrid inverter
Those who already have solar panels on their balcony and want to retrofit them with a battery storage system often face a problem: most common inverters are designed only for pure grid feeding. APsystems has solved this problem with the EZHI – a single-phase hybrid microinverter that mediates directly between solar panels, storage, and the home grid.
What makes the EZHI special?
The APsystems EZHI performs three tasks simultaneously: it converts the direct current from the solar panels into usable alternating current, controls the charging and discharging of a connected battery storage, and regulates how much electricity is fed into the home grid – optionally with zero export via the APmeter Smart Meter.
Technical Specifications
- Max. Input Power (PV): 800 Watts (via 2 MPPT inputs)
- AC Output Power: 800 Watts
- Communication: WLAN (built-in)
- Warranty: 10 years
- Protection Class: IP67
Compatible Storage Units
The EZHI works AC-side with various storage units. Complete kits are available in our shop: EZHI + APmeter (without storage), EZHI + Phylion 2,760 Wh, and EZHI + Felicity ESS 5,120 Wh.
APmeter Smart Meter
The APmeter is APsystems' own smart meter and works seamlessly with the EZHI. It measures real-time power consumption and transmits this information to the EZHI, which then feeds in exactly as much power as is currently being consumed.
Who is the EZHI suitable for?
The EZHI is ideal for retrofitters who already have solar panels and want to add a storage unit. For complete newcomers, we recommend the Anker Solarbank or the Jackery SolarVault 3 Pro instead.
Price and Conclusion
The APsystems EZHI Hybrid Inverter is available from us starting at 279 Euros. In a set with the APmeter and a Phylion storage unit, the system starts at under 600 Euros – a very competitive price.
